Dr Dhara Patel from Leumeah Dental Surgery and her niece Ruhi Patel have been growing their hair over the last 12 months so that they can donate hair to make wigs for people who’ve lost their hair from cancer, alopecia or other medical conditions. One of the team members at Leumeah Dental Surgery, Tracey Green, inspired them to donate hair for wigs and also to be part of this important fundraising event – ‘The 24 Hour against Cancer’.
The 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur is an annual fundraising movement to provide the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, the Oncology Ward and the Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit at Campbelltown Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit and associated Outreach service at Camden Hospital with the extra services and equipment they need to assist in the treatment, care and comfort of children and adults dealing with cancer.
Join us to cheer our hair donation and help us to achieve our target of $500.
We are so proud of you Ruhi. We love you so much. Good job on donating your hair.
