Describe your fundraising pledge to your supporters.

My fundraising pledge is for my beautiful big sister, DEBBIE .

I was sitting in Macarthur Square car park in 2018 when my brother-in-law rang me and said ‘Your sister‘s breast cancer has come back’.

I cried and will never forget that day . Within six months, unfortunately, I held her hand at Camden Palliative Care Unit and said goodbye. It was the worst day of my life.

I had been involved with 24Hr Fight Against Cancer with Fred Borg since its inception in 2005.  I just loved doing it but I had no real understanding of just how vital that support is until Debbie’s illness when I saw firsthand everything that 24Hr provides for patients.

My Pledge

To walk 100km for Debbie. I don’t care about my bad knee and my bad ankle. I’ll think about Deb every day as I’m walking.
