Alyssa Miller and her family, with the support of Streets Ice Cream and Unilever, have created this team (Healing Steps) in the years 24hr Fight against Cancer to raise awareness and vital funds for cancer treatment in the Macarthur area.

Back in 2010, At just 10 months of age, Alyssa was diagnosed with high-risk Infantile Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. She was given a 50% chance of beating this disease, and due to her young age she was not likely to reach her 1st birthday. After around 8 months of chemotherapy, which failed to get her to remission, Alyssa had a bone marrow transplant in April 2011.

Alyssa is now cancer-free.

The 24 Hour Fight Against Cancer Macarthur is an annual fundraising movement that exists to provide the Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre, the Oncology Ward and the Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit at Campbelltown Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit and associated Outreach service at Camden Hospital with the extra services and equipment they need to assist in the treatment, care and comfort of children and adults dealing with cancer.

All money raised stays in Macarthur – Totally Volunteer Committee – Expenses covered by Local Businesses and Service Clubs
